I am working on designs for three apps and sites with working titles of "Reaching Out to the Other Side,"
"Truth Teller" and "Just the Facts"
"Reaching
Out to the Other Side” provides background information and both general and topic specific suggestions for
having productive conversations with people who have different political views. I have the content for this pretty much
worked out. I would like to update this app based on the experience of volunteer canvassers.
"Truth
Teller" provides a checklist and rating tool that can be used to review news articles and political speech on
various levels of analysis. Input would generate an letter to the source of the information with specific feedback regarding
the level of truth and/or the use of fear based thinking. It would also be added to a data base that would provide an
overall rating for sources of information in politics and media. I have the general outline of the information needed
to develop this app but need to work out, and test on the specifics.
“Just the Facts,”
is at the idea stage and will require teams to update and validate information. This app would provide reliable and
updated information on areas of concern such as jobs, health care, election influence, and the economy.
